How to Find Us

Address: Corporate Outdoor Learning Centre, De Vere Wokefield Estate, Goodboy's Lane, Mortimer, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 3AE

By Car

Our centre is situated within the grounds of the 250 acre De Vere Wokefield Estate, just 10 minutes from J11 of the M4. To get to our Corporate Outdoor Learning Centre simply follow the instructions below:

• Exit the M4 at Junction 11 and turn on to the A33, signposted Basingstoke

• On the A33, go through the first set of lights and turn right at the second

• Immediately take the first exit towards Grazeley and Mortimer

• After approx. 2.5 miles and a sharp right hand bend over a railway bridge, you will see the entrance to Wokefield Estate on the right

• Proceed down the long drive through the golf course. At the first roundabout take a left towards the Wokefield Place Conference Centre (a big modern building with a silver water feature at the front)

• Follow the road around the building to the right and then to the left, keeping the Wokefield Place building on your left. You will drive past a large open lawn area on your right. Continue down this road towards the woods and the lake. You will find us at the bottom of this road

Look out for our blue directional signage that features our dolphin logo. These are posted all along the main entrance driveway to help you.

By Rail

Reading Station is located 7 miles from Wokefield Estate. There are hourly trains from Reading that connect with Mortimer Station. Mortimer Station is a 5-minute drive from Wokefield Estate. There is no taxi rank at Mortimer Station, therefore taxis will need to be booked in advance.

By Air

Wokefield Estate is 36 miles (30-40 minutes drive) from London Heathrow Airport.

Parking

Car parking is very limited directly at our Outdoor Learning Centre and only available for staff, therefore we ask that you leave all cars in the hotel car park and make the short walk down to our Centre. Staff will be at hand on the day if you are unsure where to go. If you have mobility needs that mean that you require parking closer to the venue, please let us know and we can arrange this for you.

Dress Code and Kit List

The programme you're attending at our Outdoor Learning Centre may incorporate outdoor activities. All specialist kit and PPE will be provided by GRA and you will not be taking part in any water-based activities so clothes suitable for the outdoors are acceptable and we recommend you also bring a change of clothes. Further guidance on what else you may want to bring along is as follows:

  • 1 pair outdoor trousers (preferably not denim, sportswear or activewear is best)
  • T-shirt/jumper/hoodie (layers if cold weather)
  • Sturdy trainers or outdoor shoes with good grip/thick soles (no wellies, crocs, plimsoles, flipflops etc. You do not need walking boots/shoes)
  • Coat or jacket if cold weather (lightweight waterproof is best)
  • Water bottle (these can be filled at the venue)
  • Sunglasses, hat/cap and sunscreen (if hot weather)

Waterproof jackets and trousers as well as gloves and sunscreen will be provided if you don’t have your own. Water machines are available at the venue.

Challenge by Choice

Our Challenge by Choice ethos allows you to decide the degree to which you participate in our outdoor activities, meaning that this will always be your personal decision. Our facilitators will not pressure you or allow peer pressure to force you to take part in any activity that you don't want to. This philosophy will be upheld by our staff and team throughout your time with us. Please don’t hesitate to let us know before or during the event if you have any further questions. This concept will be reinforced to everyone on the day.
